Haitian Voodoo Ceremonies

A manbo - or voodou priestess - raises a candle and calabash bowl to the four points on the compass during a sunrise voodou ritual at Bord de Mer de Limonade, on the north coast of Haiti on July 25, 2008. After renewing their faith in the mud pit at Plaine du Nord on the days prior, pilgrims migrate to the nearby water, their faith renewed.
